The friendship between Turkey and Pakistan has been strengthened with a "tank."

A new milestone has been added to the defense industry relations between Turkey and Pakistan. Ramsa Defense and Pakistan's state-owned tank manufacturing company HIT signed a memorandum of understanding and agreements covering 14 different items.

Ramsa Defense, a member of the OSTİM Defense and Aviation Cluster, achieved a new export success as part of its international operations.

Ramsa Defense General Manager Ramazan Gücükturalı stated in an interview with an AA correspondent that they have been operating since 2016 with capabilities in machining, welded manufacturing, cutting-bending manufacturing, hydraulic assembly workshops, clinical laboratories, and measurement technologies.

Gucukturali explained that they produce end products, subsystems, and act as a supplier for major industries in the defense sector. He emphasized their wide range of capabilities, including design, circuit board design, software development, and machining.

He noted that their end products include unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, a snake robot, an exoskeleton system, and a claw system for separating unexploded ordnance. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing work on security equipment, maintenance systems, and energy systems in the subsystems category.

Gücükturalı stated that Ramsa Defense made its first major export to the United Arab Emirates, followed by an agreement with Saudi Arabia. He also noted that their presence at the IDEAS Fair in Pakistan was not as a participant but specifically to finalize contracts.

He mentioned that they signed both a memorandum of understanding and final agreements with Pakistan's state-owned tank manufacturer, HIT, covering approximately 14 different areas. These agreements include aspects such as heavy weapon barrel manufacturing, technology transfer, and spare parts.

TURAL-I to Begin Field Testing by End of January

Ramazan Gücükturalı shared that they signed a preliminary agreement to carry out the Asian production of their domestically developed unmanned ground vehicle, TURAL, in Pakistan. He elaborated:

"The first contract has been completed, and the transfers will be finalized within approximately a week. About 1.5 months from now, we will make our first shipments. The initial shipment will consist of spare parts for tank components. This will be followed by subsystems, eventually leading to joint production.

TURAL-I is currently the most advanced device in its class among medium-segment ground vehicles worldwide. It is equipped with air systems, ground systems, weapon systems, and transportation systems. The vehicle operates with four different modules: lidar, radar, 4G connectivity, and its own web-based system. We have signed a preliminary agreement to jointly produce the Asian segment of this product in Pakistan. If all goes well, we aim to continue production for all Asian countries through Pakistan."

Ramazan Gucukturali stated that the design, software, and electrical processes of the product are largely complete, and they plan to conduct field tests by the end of January.

Highlighting the significance of production and investment leveraging domestic resources and capabilities, Gücükturalı said:

"I want to emphasize that our doors are open to many local companies that can collaborate with us. With all our capabilities in business development and production, we are ready to provide benefits to everyone. Additionally, we are progressing in some projects through investment partnerships. In the coming days, we will hold various meetings with investors in this regard."
